Galileo supported for Breeders` Cup

Following substantial ante-post support, including three four-figure wagers, Galileo was this afternoon cut to clear 9-4 favourite from 5-2 for the Breeders` Cup Classic by Coral.

Coral laid one bet of #2,000 to a telephone credit client, as well as two bets of #1,000 to betting shop customers.

'Galileo is being backed as if defeat is out of the question and we are still taking bets at 9-4,' reported Simon Clare, Coral spokesman.

Fantastic Light, who inflicted the first defeat on Galileo in the Irish Champion Stakes, is now the 5-2 second favourite for the Belmont Park race on Saturday week.

Coral have installed Milan as the 7-1 joint-second favourite with Mutamam for the Breeders` Cup Turf behind Sakhee, the 4-5 favourite.

'The European team is getting stronger and stronger by the day and we are seeing plenty of money for 4 European winners at 12-1,' added Clare.
